Pink! Pink! So much pink! This is a happy space completely covered in pink. (Picture of Hitsujiyama Park: please click here for information of other spots in Saitama prefecture.) I went to Hitsujiyama Park the other day, and it was bustling with families and couples who had come to seen the flowers. I ate Chichibu specialties such as soba and miso-potatoes while enjoying the view of the moss pink, and took a lot of pictures. It was such a happy time♪ Now, Hitsujiyama Park is not the only moss pink spot in Japan, as there are many others! Here I will be showing you some recommended moss pink spots along with pictures of their superb views. First of all... Higashi Mokoto Shibazakura Park (Hokkaido) Its best season is around mid-May. A festival called "Shibazakura Matsuri" is held starting on May 3rd (Sun) through June 7th (Sun.) It looks like many people come to take their wedding pictures here...! It certainly would make a great commemorative picture. There's a fishing place, a campground, and other entertainments like go-carts. Spot Info Fuji Shibazakura Festival (Yamanashi prefecture) The contrast between the moss pink and Mt. Fuji in this picture is absolutely lovely. The Fuji Shiba-sakura Festival ends on May 31st (Sun.) At the event, visitors can enjoy "Fujinomiya Yakisoba," or "Koshu Chicken Giblet Stew" among other cheap and delicious popular dishes at the Mt. Fuji Delicious Foods Festival. Visitors can also warm up at the "foot bath" while enjoying the view of the moss pink♪ Spot Info "Tenku no Hanakairo" (Aichi prefecture) The Shibazakura Festival is held from May 16th (Sat) to June 7th (Sun.) Heading towards the moss pink hill while enjoying a 12 minute air stroll on the sightseeing lift! Kamu no Sato Rokutan (Hiroshima prefecture) The best season for this is until the beginning of May.
